Disney Store Shopping

When we had our Marvel-lous day in London last month hosted at the Disney Store on London's Oxford Street, we were very excited about visiting the store afterwards with the kids. During our university years our local Disney store in Bath was one of our favourite places to shop...We regularly bought clothing, beach towels, stationery, ornaments and cuddly toys.

We always found the items to be of the highest quality (I still have some of the clothing I bought way back then and it has lasted nearly 20 years!!!) and we loved that we could find our favourite Disney characters there. We even made our own wedding cake using Mickey and Minnie salt and pepper shakers from the Disney store as our cake toppers.

So we were really keen to introduce our children to Disney store. At the Marvel Universe Live event we were given some amazing goody bags with Marvel products in them and then the kids wanted to choose additional items from the store too so here's a quick rundown of what we ended up with:

First up the kids were given a Marvel Avengers Captain America Mask and Shield set retailing at £30.95 and Marvel Avengers Iron Man Gauntlet Gloves retailing at £20.95.

These have led to lots of role play and imaginative play at home. Here's what the kids had to say about them. Miss T and D both had the Captain America set. Miss T is pictured here. Ten year old D said "When the shield is turned on and you move it quickly it makes a 'clanging' sound. When you press a button it says Captain America quotes. It's cool!"

J had the Iron Man Gauntlet gloves which fire out missiles.

J said "I love the Iron Man hands. Both hands shoot out bullets. One of the hands also makes shooting noises as the bullets fire out".

Disney store really does have something for everyone as there are awesome special collector editions of some of the Marvel characters like Captain America, Iron Man and Black Widow and others. These retail at £19.95 each.

Still on the Marvel theme, J was after some new Disney Infinity characters. He chose a Marvel Battlegrounds set for Disney Infinity 3.0. It was a Captain America play set which unlocked a new playset adventure and came with the Captain America play piece character. It retails at £34.99 and literally provides hours of entertainment. You can see how we've fallen in love with Disney Infinity here. The kids just can't get enough of it and despite having so many characters already, they seem to choose more and more each time they see any in store. Yoda and Elsa are the newest additions to our collection which D and Miss T picked up on a supermarket shopping trip more recently.

Another big love of ours is Star Wars. I have to admit this is a recent thing as Miss T has become obsessed with watching and re-watching the films (all except the latest as she isn't old enough to watch that). She adores Luke Skywalker and often dresses up as Luke and also loves Princess Leia and asked me to do her hair as Princess Leia hair.

So looking around the Disney Store, finding a Luke Skywalker character was Miss T's priority. I thought she would be wowed by the gorgeous Disney princess display downstairs in the store but no, her heart was set on Luke Skywalker. This proved a little tricky as Luke doesn't feature much in the lastest film, Star Wars:The force awakens, so there are fewer Luke items than the other characters. She wasn't deterred and kept searching until she found a little Luke Skywalker figure that she was delighted with.

D also chose a Star Wars themed toy - this First Order Tie Fighter.

You can imagine just how delighted we were to hear that later this month (June 2016) Disney Store will be launching a range of their cute cuddly Tsum Tsums as a Star Wars: The Force Awakens collection.
